AWWA K-Box
Hi all, since a quite a long period of time nvr blog liao..
Holidays...now til mid-oct
Here to blog about yesterday's eventful day...here goes..
Yesterday, 30 August 2008, Saturday...
Went to AWWA(ACCESS) for a sing-and-harmonise 'workshop'
There met with Amanda( and her bro), HP, kristine, Hui Qi etc for the workshop.
the instructor taught us how to sing songs without the use of instruments, which was a new learning experience for me and the others. We were taught to sing the song The Reason, by Hoobastank. We were split into 4 groups of two to sing the different parts of the song. I was paired up with Boon Keng to do the bass part, which is also the background music of the song. After a few times of practice, some of us managed to get the hang of the song.
After the workshop, we went to the AMK K-Box, which is organised by Janice. While eating lunch, some of us(me, kristine, amanda and HuiQi) was discussing abit about our school life. I realised tt most of us clients share a somewhat similar problem, which is the problem of 'suffering' from a so called, communication barrier between us and other people. That I understand, having gone through the exact experience during my secondary school days. I also understand that we, as clients, are able 2 understand each other better.
After that we all went in to the K-Box. Yesterday was the first time I went to a KBox session with my AWWA friends. Had a fun time there with them(sheena joined us in between). it was a fun experience la, especially seeing Janice sing along with us also haha, i muz say tt she was quite a goood singer lol. The way she sings was indeed funny 2 watch hahas, as much laughter filled the room. The atmosphere was just fantastic, even I had a fun time. Left there at abt 6+pm.
Took some photos along the way, next time then post it up, cos i do not have them at this point of time.

Long Day Today
Today: 25/08/08
Last Paper: ComMaths (12.30-2.30pm)
Speaking of the paper, I tink it went quite well. I didnt do the Matrix Qn onli. Hoping for an A. So thats that.
I realised something during the exam. Today is the first time tt most of 0804 sit through the whole 2hrs of the paper, including me. Everyone wants to score well for ComMaths i guess, which is a positive thing:)
So 2.30pm, an end of the exam period and the upcoming long holidays. Well, I joined up with some of my classmates(Me, joe, Peckying, yonghua, jesslyn, colin and suraj), and they decided to go to AMK Hub Jalan Jalan. So walked directly to AMK Hub from school. Go there 2 play pool for about an hour. Good la like that relieve sch stress hahas. Long time didnt go out with poly friends liao(the last 1 being the sucessful class BBQ). Walk walk until 7+ then went home.Thanks alot la guys.
Reflections
Ok here goes..
1 Semester gone. 4 months of school seems to pass just like that.
Time Really flies very Fast. A moment was the orientation and now 4 months later comes the semestral Holidays. So, "So Far So Good" again. 1 sem gone, 1 year and 1 more semester for US to be together as a class, so must treasure them while it stil last.
First thing First..I would like to thank Each and EveryOne in MIT0804 for all the help tt they had all given me, be it small or big. Thank You! I really appreciate them alot. Secondly, to all my classmates.. I like to again thank you guys for helping me with my studies and sch in particular.
I wan to thank Ethel also for advising me to look forward to the future and also helping me with many other things(No ranking in paticular, all are equal in my eyes). All have given me Geat Help.Thank u!

Practice Makes Prefect!!
Practice Makes Prefect. This phrase apply for both study and sports
Today stayed at home slack half the day
Read books la, play la. Study maths abit abit. Integration, is worrying me, substitution method especially(can someone help me?).
Today in the afternoon went down to a void deck play soccer on my own
Practicing soccer allow me to spend time wisely and also to relief exam stress.
More importantly, it allows to go up a step in achieing a goal, which is to play soccer as well as my primary school mates.
Today the more i practice, i feel tt i am getting better and better in terms of soccer la
Long time ago, I cant even kick a ball with my legs la.
Now-Today, I am able to control the ball and kick it with both feets liao. My left leg shooting with more strength and power liao....so happy la, give me a boost of self confidence la. Day by day improve more and more. Slowly, I believe that i can hit tt goal.

COS Paper Today
Today was the COS paper lor...before commencement of paper very stressed
all the data all in the head ready to flow out to empty the brain.
Tried my very best to cramp all the information and stuff abt OS etc into my head
at the start of 12.30, turn over the paper and look thru the qns.
Frankly speaking, the qns in the papers supposed to be very easy de
Juz study Tutorial 1-3 memorise fully word for word, 就可以拿满分了
haiz 真可惜我没有做到 pity la
didnt do Q3 onli(6 choose 5) I see the Q3 on thumbdrive full 11 marks i juz forget it
then i see Q5 on file systems also worried 10 marks 不太会做。
Then i do abit of maths: count the number of marks 不会做 de then compare. In the end do Q5.
Most of the questions still can manage
A thing that came to a suprise to me is tt at 2pm, i turn around look around at our class row, then realise onli left Colin, YongHua and me doing the paper. Wah wat a surprise
Now I tink the paper difficult to get A liao lars, unless moderation is done( it may pull up or pull down my result la)
Hope for at least a B+ for COS now...
Monday last paper: ComMaths(my favourite sub)
After Monday 2.30pm is start of holidays liao
5 more days to go..got to study serious now
ComMaths is myhighest hope for a A
So, I am going to work hard to hit my target!

I find the papar quite ok, similar to the 2008 sample papers la
turn over the paper, feel abit happy and most of all relieved
I tink i stil did ok la i guess
Debugging 1 of the error desperate find also cannot find =(

the bad thing is that i screwed up Q5a on string tokenizer lars,but 5b i noe how to do so can
in the end nvr do Q8 Arrays hahas
the rest of the paper go well bah i tink
Today after the Exam, went home with some of my classmates.
I quite happy la , give me boost of confidence la.
it has been a long time since i last went back with them, quite pleased

Study Week
Hey guys,
Havent been blogging since the end of Common Test
It has been 5 days since that and I have been staying at home most of the time to study for the upcoming exams lar..
That is the main aim of the Sch to have study week..
for students to have more time to study for their exams
For me, the exams is from 19-25 august
OOP 1st, then COS followed by ComMaths
After that day ..is Holidays Yeah
Holidays ...time to take break from stress and work..
Looking forward to the Holidays lahh...
But stil now have to focus on the Exams yea muz concentrate
Next Sem..Sem 2 sch wil announce wat our electives will be.
Hope to get in my first choice, Japanese wahaha

CS and Database CT
hey
Today was the day of Common Test, Database Funamentals(DF) and ComSkills.
Both of them now is over...
over means over...nothing we do can be changed.
So time to focus on the exams, which is 1 week after that
So, i shall summarise abt the Common Tests:
Well, ComSkills i thought was quite manageable
some of the questions was quite common sense. overall, I was fine for me
Database Fundamentals
DF
Choose 4 out of 5 qns(lucky I read the front page, if not i tink i would be doing all. Anyway, sure not enough time to do all 1 lor wahaha)
For me, i did all except for Q5, nvr do SQL.
Most of the qns in the papers need 2 draw a lot of ER Diagrams lor sianzz
haha lucky most of what i got study some got come out ( not hao lian here wahahaha)
Overall, I find it stil manageable for me.

Countdown to Common Test..2 Days Left..
Did not go for Tuesday's maths class, cos I wanted to focus on DF and ComSkills 1st.
Having been studying for them while at home haha
how sianz it can get..
ComSkills stil left Unit 10 and a bit of Unit 7
DF study abit here abit there..got to chiong DF liao la

Yoyo...Today friday is the end of week 16..
Next Friday, which is 7 days(a week) away, is the double-header Common tests: Com Sills and Database(DF). Quite worried for Com Skills..not really sure what to focus on studying..So best thing is to study all tt the teacher say no choice.
Today's school was very short, 2hrs only, 8-10am. 8am go for DF Lecture, where Mr Hameed gave us exam tips to copy. He give us like only 5 mins to copy then I was like very gan choing tt i take out paper juz scribbled the notes untidily. (Lucky go home see the paper, i stil can read what I wrote wahaha). After DF went to P 603 for OOP lesson...first time we had OOP lesson in tutorial room! Mr Son went through the 07S1 paper and gave us some tips for the exam yea.
I have deleted a post which was 3 posts b4 this one. But now, i decided to rewrite tt previous post in this post. In tt post, I was saying that i am now facing a Battle of Friends in front of me. Before the Orientation, I juz knew tt I had to work in order to gain new friends. As it went by, I felt tt I had, to a certain extent, succeeded. So until now its so far so good for me. Now, I juz knew tt If i were to maintain it, I amm sure tt I wil be able to make this 2 yrs a success(friends-wise). So, whether I win or Lose this battle, It all depends on myself. I juz hope i can sustain it now
