Amanda's belated birthday Celebration
Yesterday was quite an eventful day for me
However, it is more special day for Amanda, as we helped her to celebrate her belated birthday.
I went 2 AWWA for soccer training in the morning. The training was quite fun, but I am still weak in shooting with power. I guess I have to work harder.
At 11+, went for guitar lesson. Andrew joined in guitar lessons for the first time. Daniel taught Andrew the fundementals of the guitar, while me and Amanda were taught new skills on playing the guitar by Justin, another of the volunteer teacher. Wad we need now is to practice and practice..
However these were not the focal point of yesterday's activities. The focal point is when we all went out to celebrate Amanda's belated birthday after that. She was to be the star of the day..
Philip, Ting Jun took a cab down to AMK Hub to meet Yuan Ping to buy the cake for Amanda.
Amanda, Me and Janice travelled to, coincidentally, AMK Hub to have our lunch. Since we wanted to use Yuan Ping as a surprise element for Amanda, My mind was like very worried that Philip they all will meet us at the same time. I kept my fingers crossed tt that wont happen. But, it wasnt to be...
We 3 went Macdonald's settle our lunch. After a while, Philip, Yuan Ping and Ting Jun came to find us at Macdonald's with the cake to celebrate for the birthday girl, Amanda. At around the same time, I presented her with her birthday gift.
We then went to the KBox(Janice, me, Ting Jun, philip, Yuan Ping and...Amanda). KBox-ed from 4-7pm. Had alot of fun. The star(Amanda) was mic-shy at first but we all persuaded her to sing using the mic instead of manually singing. When she finally shake off the shyness, the rest of us was indeed not surprised tt she can sing not only well, but very well.
Out of the songs that we sang, i tink that two songs was very meaningful and (i should say)touching 2 the occasion, namely 童话 and 朋友. For 童话, the song was specially sang and dedicated to the birthday girl, Amanda. I felt that the lyrics of this song was touching, in the sense that it tells abt self confidence and trust among those close to you. No matter what difficulties you have, we, yr friends, will always 支持你. For 朋友, I felt that the lyrics of this song was quite meaningful, as it says about friends in a simple way, in a way tt yr true friends will always help and support you.

After which, we all went for a slow walk around AMK, and went to find an area 2 rest, while talking. There was also the place which Amanda opened up her present, live in the camera. (pictures up if i can get them) I hope Amanda liked the bear haha..

Firstly, wad u experience in school, I am able to understand and feel the feelings which u are feeling, having gone through them myself. I believe that you are not the only one that is facing it. So thus, I tink you are definitely not alone. The relationships and feelings that we share together as close friends is invaluable.
After sharing and enjoying a few years of friendship, even though we may not be on the same wavelength at times, this relationshp and friendship which we enjoy til today will gain strength, and the bonds which hold us together wont be easily broken.
I tink you personally would be tinking of this question: Why is that the ignorance would happen to you, and not everyone. Well, I guess that we are together in this kind of situation. So i tink that the only way you can cope with it, is that to noe that you are definitely not alone. Moreover, I tink there is not a need to understand what other people tink about you. As long as you believe in r own self and do wad suits you best, that is good enough already. Use your strength, be positive and im sure you will be more happier.
Your self belief is second to none, and I tink that strength which is in you special. You are mentally very strong, so I believe thatyou can use that strength to make it work for you, use it to overcome your many obstacles. Have confidence in your own ability. Show yr ability not your disability, and i tink with that, you atre able to go far in whatever you do. So, I wish you good luck in whatever you do! you can do it! 加油!

I first met Amanda at Sec 1, during the Camp Explorer in 2004. Since then, Our friendship bonds has increased and interestingly, we share 4 years of friendship, from 2004 until now.ever since, we 2 have meeting each other in the 2006 and 2007 ILS Camps, malacca, and most recently Penang,where it was a joy to work with you as committee member
Amanda, she is a very good person, kind at heart and always willing to help her friends whenever possible, to the best of her abilities. Even though she is wheelchair bound bcoz of her disability, her perserverance and determination level is indeed second to none. Such is her perserverance to overcome life's obstacles that she is an inspiration to many people, including me. Her strong self belief and never-give-up attitude certainly is one of her many strengths in herself. As a friend of 4 years with her, i start to see the realisation that what she lacks in her physical ability, she cancels that weakness to make herself stronger with a strong belief in herself and her never-give-up attitude.
Amanda, may all yr wishes and dreams come true, and always stay strong and happy. I really hope that yr friends in your class will be better to you and learn to appreciate the strength in you. I really hope tt yr friends in class will not ignore you in class and you wont be lonely in school. You are very special in a positive way, so I tink yr class people dont really noe how special you are yet, so i hope that they see that specialness in you fast enough, so that u can enjoy the rest of yr school days happily.

2009
Its the new Year already. 2008 just seems to pass in a blink of a eye, and 2009 just seems to come in a flash. Time is passing very fast. School has just started again, year 1 Sem 2 term 2. Firstly, in this post, I will share with you about my resolutions for year 2009. Next, the flashbacks of 2008 and the many memories that 2008 has brought to me.
My new year resolutions for 2009:
1) being able to continue to stay the same way as the way i am enjoying now, so i hope it will stay the same.
2)attaining good grades for my semester 2 and beyond
3) most imnportantly, having a pleasant 2009 in the long road ahead...
2008 in a flash
January 2008: waited for O levels results to be released. Well, when tt day came, I admit that i even surprised myself by getting 17 points for L1R4, so eventually entered Nanyang Polytechnic's Diploma in Multimedia and Infocomm Technology course.
April 2008: officially became a NYP student and got the chance to meet my new classmates for the first time during Orientation. they bcame to accept me as who I am and got me to join in the groups of friends, something that has not really happened during my se sch days.
May 2008: I celebrated my birthday on the 3rd of May with all my friends for the first time. All the credit muz go to two of my best friends,Amanda and Sylvia, to plan it out for me in secret. It was indeed a very good execution of a very good plan, which really took me by surprise. I thank them for the effort they put in for me to make my 17th birthday very special=D. Amanda and Sylvia, u 2 are great=D
June 2008: during the 2 week term break of Semester 1, went for the class BBQ with 0804. Enjoyed myself alot that day.
July-september 2008: Throughout was school, which i need to thank each and everyone of you in 0804 that helped me alot throughout my difficulties, studies and others too. I nva enjoyed my sch life tt much for a very long time....again, hope it continues that way.
October-November 2008: I got the request from jaice to help as camp committee for the Penang Trip in December. Lucky I said yes to tt request, and i nva looked back since. So, along with 4 other TM clients, Amanda, Ting Jun, Kang Wei and Ming Li, we 5 carryied on our jobs and put in alot of effort during this time to prepare and organise the activities for the camp.
Decemeber 2008: Well, to put it simple, is the mont for the camp committe to "get to work". From 13-16 , AWWA went to Penang for a Community Outreach Project. There, the camp committee was in charge of almost everything. For me, that once-in-a-lifetime chance for me to be the MC for the campfire annd its experience will live with me for a long time.
