Penang Trip briefing
hi all..
Today went 4 the Penang Trip briefing at ACCESS, AWWA.
The committee members, consisting of amanda, Ting Jun, Ming Li, Kang Wei and me, were supposed 2 be at AWWA at 1pm, whiloe the other clients are supposed to report at 2pm.
I and Ting Jun reach AWWA at 1pm, and met up with the other committee members. The committee members are being tasked to breif the client abt the programmes etc, while HFC help us along the way. Then we were briefed by Janice and Siew Hui on the tasks that we were supposed 2 do when briefing the clients.
So i was tasked to brief the clients on the programme on the 3rd day of the trip, the groupings and also the campfire programme. The other committee members were also given jobs on who 2 say wad..so amanda is tasked 2 do the part on the "things to bring" while Ting jun was tasked to start off the briefing and the introduction of the committee members. kang Wei was tasked to do the starting and ending days of the Penang Trip, while Ming Li did the 2nd day of the programme and also the sightseeing places.
So when the actual briefing started, we all did our tasks quite confidently and all was smooth, except for some nerves at the beginning. For me, when it was my turn 2 brief them, i felt reluctant 2 even speak coz too nervous le...but i stood up and tried to overcome my nerves with all my might. Overall, for me, I felt i did well for the first section of the briefing.
Then after which we started to brief the clients on the groupings and also the bus arrangements, which was led by me lol. At that time I was quite nervous at the beginning and i stumbled abit here and there. Ten we also did abit of a ice breaker so that the clients will noe each other and thus, it will be easier 2 find their own group.
After that, we all took a break b4 starting to teach the clients how 2 sing the campfire songs. I was tasked 2 lead the teaching of the songs, supported by the rest of the committee members.
I somehow took the initiative 2 stand in the middle of the big circle 2 lead all the clients la. i also dunno how i did it hahaha. As time goes by, my confidence slowly increase more and more. I felt these is my chance to really speak in front of my friends , having watched my brother do it too. The feeling of being able 2 lead the clients is juz amazing la,that feeling hard 2 explain using words, I felt a sense of pride 2 be able 2 be given the chance 2 represent AWWA as committe member for Penang. The feeling of seeing the clients reacting to my lead is also amazing la.
After which the HFC took over for the teaching of the Friendship dance, which we will be doing in the campfire itself. Some of the other clients joined in the demostration, and we all soon went to practice together as one.
We did the packing of the logistics, helped by my close friends Amanda and Ting Jun. After which we confirmed all the plans and all then all wennt home.
Overall, i felt going through this briefing really benefitted me and also the committee members. the chance given 2 us to lead also can increase our confidence, and also certainly for me personally. I cherish the experience of leading the clients la..simply cool. Im sure the rest of the committee members have their confidence boosted too. I hope that the clients and the committee members enjoyed themselves...so see u all come 13 December 2008. 7 more days...Here we come, Community Outreach Project, Penang.
